  • How can I rent a CAR or a SCOOTER?
    There are two distinct ways. The first is to go through our address, located at Rua Serpa Pinto, 45. It is right in the center of Funchal, near the "LA VIE" mall centre. A good reference to find us would be the roundabout below Parque Santa Catarina. We are located on the street that connects La Vie Mall Center to the roundabout. The area is called "FREGUESIA DA SÉ". If you choose this option, please be aware that we are open between Monday to Saturday from 9AM to 6PM but rental, both scooter and car, will be subject to availability. The second way is to make a reservation through this website in the area called "BOOK NOW !"; or by e-mails "" and ""; or via phones (351) 938 799 456 or (351) 291 222 260. In this case, we will schedule the day and time of your visit and guarantee the availability of the vehicle you want.
  • How do I make a reservation?
    Reservations made through the FX RENT A CAR & SCOOTER website must be submitted by the CLIENT through our SCHEDULE FORM and must contain, necessarily, the following information: (1) your full name; (2) your telephone number and contact email; (3) which vehicle or category you wish to rent; (4) the start and end date of the lease; (5) the estimated time to pick up the vehicle on the first day of rental. By submitting this data, the pre-booking is registered in our system and we at FX RENT A CAR & SCOOTER will contact you as soon as possible. possible, through your email and/or mobile phone to confirm the reservation. On the day agreed for contracting and picking up the vehicle, we ask the customer to appear within the pre-agreed time and with the following documents: (1) photo identification (ID card or passport) + (2) driver's license. Upon completion of the contract, the customer must pay the vehicle rental value.
  • What are the general rental conditions?
    Be 25 years of age or older; Have your driver's license for at least three years. The customer must ensure that their driver's license is valid. If the car model booked is not available, the company must present a car of the same category. If there are only cars of the lower category, the company returns the difference to the customer. If there are only vehicles of higher categories to operate, the company will bear the costs of the difference. The pick-up and drop-off of vehicles must be carried out at the place agreed between the parties and respecting the time, under penalty of charging an additional daily rate after one hour of delay. It is the company's responsibility to rent the vehicle in good mechanical condition and deliver all the necessary documentation to the customer. The customer must return the vehicle in the same condition in which it was rented. In case of theft of the vehicle, the insurance covers. In case of theft of objects inside the vehicle, either from the company or the customer, the insurance does not cover and the responsibility is the customer. Customer may not drive under the influence of alcohol or narcotics. The customer will be responsible for paying fines for improper parking, speeding or any type of violation of current traffic laws. As for insurance, it is the most comprehensive available in Portugal: damages to third parties, driver and passenger insurance, total vehicle insurance including windows and tires, in the case of cars. For scooters, the insurance covers damages to third parties, in addition to insuring the driver and passenger. The scooter itself is not insured and any damage will be borne by the customer.
  • What are the reservation cancellation conditions?
    Reservations made, whether through the website and/or email and/or mobile phone, may be canceled free of charge by the COSTUMER as long as the COSTUMER makes the cancellation request at least 1 (one) day in advance of the first day of the rental. . FX RENT A CAR E SCOOTER reserves the right to cancel the reservation at any time, without any penalty to the company and no refund to the COSTUMER if: (1) verify, at the time of contracting and in possession of the personal identification documents and /or the COSTUMER's driver's license, that the information previously provided by the COSTUMER is false; (2) the customer is more than one hour late to collect the vehicle, without informing that he is late; (3) the COSTUMER is visibly in an altered psychic state, whether due to alcohol or narcotics consumption.
